| Now to make it look neat and presentable, I added a layer of posterboard over the wood to smoothen it out, and to clean up the rough edges. Then I applied black paint to finish the job (on the dowels as well and on any bare spot). I added a few small features as well, such as a wooden cover over the peice bin to help keep the game peices from getting lost. Now when I made this, I wanted the insides of the unit to be easily accessed in case I need to fix something in the future (which I have already done once becasue a game peice got stuck somehow in the marble return chute). So there are only 3 screws holding the gameboard onto the computer case. Take those three off and the two seperate from each other and you can easily get your hands in and fix the problem (the disk drive is held in the back by two screws). Of course, I couldn't forget the good ol' 64K TANDY COLOR COMPUTER 2 plaque! I took it off the old case and placed it on the front of the new one, as the final last touch (and above that it says POWERED BY:...so everyone will be surprised that this boardgame is powered by a 16 year old computer!). |
