News Update Info

7/28/04 - I've finally got to the point where I can release a demo for everyone to see just how far it's come! Just click on the link below to download the first demo of MiniHog. It is in DSK format, so if you want to use it on a real CoCo (which is preferred) you need a utility such as Jeff's DSKINI program. I tried it on Jeff's CoCo 3 emulator and it was slower than slow. You only get to see the real power of the program on a real 512k CoCo. Maybe with MESS, but didn't try it on that. Yes, you do need 512k memory to run this program. Once you're ready to run, type LOADM"MINIDEMO.BIN" and enter then EXEC and enter and you're off to the races! There are a few bugs right now that I need to work out, and I've listed them below. It's in its real early stages, so it is barely even playable. All you get to do is move a stiff MiniHog around on the screen and jump. The objects don't even do anything yet. That's later (as with animating Mini). Here are the known bugs right now:

- Masking problem sometimes when Mini is balled up.
- Mini Will stick to walls when in midair when a directional is pushed on joystick.
- No damage or death sequence programmed yet, so avoid falling off cliffs.
- Ghost Image will sometimes happen to Mini when screen scrolls.
- Ending Sequence not yet programmed, so when you get to the end of the level and try to go back, a lot of funky stuff will happen.

That's about it for the bugs. Here's what's coming up...

- Fix current bugs.
- Animate Mini on the run.
- Add Pause and Status Screen when 2nd button is pushed.
- Initialize objects and have them do something.

Okay, that's about it for now. Those additions will take a little time, not to mention finishing up this whole project! Well have an update much later. Try it out, click the link below!
