Recently named "Best of the West"-Northwest by Southwest Art Magazine, Seattle-born Schreivogl received her education at Western Washington University and more recently studied under renowned Skagit Valley artist Alfred Currier, as well as at the Academy of Realist Art in Seattle under artist Barbara Fugate. She was the poster artist for the 2006 Anacortes
Arts Festival and was featured on the 2005 and 2004 Anacortes Jazz Festival
posters.
She always carries a pen and sketchpad whether she's studied in France, taught English in Japan, or during her travels by bicycle across the U.S. She finds equally as much to draw and paint in Anacortes, where she currently resides. "Creating art is a way of interacting with and better understanding my surroundings. It allows me to see details that would otherwise go unnoticed. With my eyes I am feeling moods, trying to capture internal feelings or energy as expressed through actions." |
