SpryCade

A home arcade system.

The SpryCade

This is my home arcade system called the SpryCade. I spent about 3 weeks building the cabinet and about the same amount of time on the OS & Software. Inside is a Celeron 300mhz PC with a 3.2GB Hard Drive, 32MB of RAM, 4MB Video Card, 16-bit ISA Sound Blaster 16, with 14 inch Sony Monitor, Speakers, and a hacked joystick and keyboard. The software I am using on this is MS-DOS 6.22, ArcadeOS, and MAME.

The control panel layout consists of two player controls. Each player gets a joystick and 4 action buttons. The top two buttons are for Player 1 & Player 2 select. The green button is to quit a game and to quit ArcadeOS. The bottom two bottons are free play buttons (no quarters necessary!). I got the buttons and joysticks from HAPP Controls and all the other equipment was stuff I had around the house. The CPU I got off of E-Bay. All the wood and materials to make the cabinet came from Lowe's and Fred Meyer.
